Our Admissions Process

It can be very difficult to realistically see yourself and realize you need to go into a treatment facility. However, many problems require more help than you can provide, such as the professional treatment provided at Growth Extended. We know you have tried everything you could to help your child, and now it is time to let us help you. We can discover the underlying reasons for the maladaptive behavior and help your teenager to overcome their problem, whether it is a mental health condition, eating disorder, or addiction.

You no longer have to let the stress of your problems negatively impact you and the rest of your family’s life. At Growth Extended, we provide support through every step of the admissions process because we understand how difficult it can be to go into treatment. We strive to set ourselves apart from other facilities by the level of care we provide to those in our care and their families. Our support begins at the first phone call of inquiry and remains through discharge and beyond.

What is the Admissions Process like at Growth Extended?

The first step in the admissions process is the initial phone call. We have trained admissions staff that will take the time to listen to your situation and explain the program in detail. You will be given an accurate overview that provides all the information you need to make the best decision. These telephone assessments are free of charge and include a comprehensive assessment by our staff members performed prior to the admissions to obtain a complete history and to verify your insurance benefits. We also provide information for you through password-protected electronic means that does not require any level of technical knowledge.

After the phone call, our accounting department will verify your insurance, examine your benefits, and explain to you what services will be covered by your insurance. The clinical director also reviews the medical history to ensure that our programs are the right fit for your situation. We want to make sure that you get the best possible care, and if for some reason that is not at our facility, we will let you know. We know that timing is of the essence, which is why we can do an admission turnaround in less than 24 hours, as long as there is no waiting list.

What Happens After the Admissions Process?

After admission into our programs, you will work with our multidisciplinary team. They will assess and create a compressive individual treatment plan within just a few days of admission. There will also be a medical physical to ensure that you are healthy enough to participate in the program.

You will undergo individual therapy with a marriage and family therapist as one part of the final stages of assessment. There will also be other clinical assessments, including academics, leisure skills, nutrition, drug history, weakness, strengths, and past family interactions. There may also be psychological testing in order to aid in diagnosing and measuring the outcome success. A family session will be arranged for the first 72 hours of admission to review the familial relationships and address any discord that may be present.

Upon review of all these assessments, our highly-trained staff members will develop the individualized treatment plan. This plan will challenge the maladaptive behavior and faulty beliefs and thought processes that have led to the problematic behaviors. It will also teach new, alternative, and healthy ways of dealing with stress, negative emotions, and other issues.

Our program is based upon evidence-based and scientifically proven treatment modalities that are effective in treating and persons with the necessary skills for long term success. If you are ready to start the admissions process, our team is just a phone call away. All it takes to start your new life is a free telephone assessment.
